DADAS: Data Acquisition and Display Software
DADAS is the software platform at the heart of WISE Group's monitoring systems. Developed since 1992 and refined through decades of demanding offshore and onshore deployments, it powers helideck, environmental, vessel motion, condition, and life extension monitoring across a wide range of installations worldwide.
DADAS is the engine inside our systems, ensuring operators always have reliable, clearly presented data when it matters most.
What DADAS does
The capabilities below are configured for each installation, around the parameters, workflows and users the system has to serve.
Real-time data acquisition and display
DADAS collects live readings from sensors and instruments across multiple input types and presents them through clear, configurable operator displays.
Pages are designed around the specific parameters, workflows, and environments an installation requires: graphical and numerical layouts, colour-coded indicators, and custom views for different user roles.
Modular, scalable architecture
DADAS is built to grow with your system. Sensors, input channels, outputs, and user terminals can be added at any time without replacing the core platform.
A system that starts as a helideck monitor can expand to include environmental, structural, motion, and condition monitoring, all running within the same software framework.
Multi-protocol integration
DADAS communicates with instruments and third-party systems using Modbus, OPC, and a wide range of other standard and proprietary protocols, including NMEA (National Marine Electronics Association) and SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol).
Full integration with marine, structural, and environmental systems is supported and actively encouraged: we design to avoid duplication of equipment and cost.
Alarm management and status messaging
You can configure alarm thresholds per channel and per user. Visual alerts, audible tones, and optional voice announcements notify operators of out-of-range conditions, whilst status messaging provides continuous confirmation that all monitored inputs are operating as expected.
Long-term data logging and trending
All data is logged continuously. Trend and history displays can be configured to individual preferences and used for at-a-glance performance review, long-term condition assessment, maintenance planning, and incident investigations.
Reporting and data distribution
DADAS generates reports automatically or on demand. Data can be distributed to onshore users, vessel operators, and third parties via email, web pages, paper reports, or dedicated data lines.
Specialist output formats, including METAR (Meteorological Aerodrome Reports) and SYNOP (Surface Synoptic Observations), are available as optional modules.
For Norwegian offshore operations, DADAS supports automatic generation of reports in the Offshore Norge format with helideck screenshots, delivered by email to configurable recipient lists.
Beyond the installation
Network, remote and cloud access
Network and remote access
DADAS systems connect to local networks or the Internet for wider data distribution and web-based monitoring.
DADAS supports virtual server installations, giving flexibility in how and where the software is deployed. Remote download, trending, and system administration are all available.
Cloud and remote access via Orbalux
For remote, distributed, or multi-asset operations, WISE Group's Orbalux platform extends DADAS's reach beyond the installation itself. Real-time data from any DADAS-equipped site becomes accessible from any internet-connected device, around the clock.
A one-way data architecture keeps source systems secure whilst automatic data validity checks maintain data quality. Multi-site views, on-demand graphing with customisable parameters, and integration with third-party weather and forecast services are all supported.

DADAS-PB
WISE Group operates a dedicated DADAS configuration (DADAS-PB) built to the specific requirements of Petrobras offshore operations in Brazil. It meets all relevant Brazilian industry standards and has been in continuous operation across a large number of FPSOs (floating production, storage and offloading units) in the region.
